Hello,
I need to download a copy of SQL 2014 Standard edition (SP4) but I cannot find this anywhere. I'm logged into what (IIRC) used to be called MSDN subscriber downloads https://my.visualstudio.com/downloads and filtering on Server and 2014 there's only developer or Express available.
Any idea where I can get this install media?
Thanks

Hello,
Normally the license key is embedded in the download, then we just "true up" with Microsoft every year via an audit.
Thanks
Your subscription does not have privilege to download paid editions and that is why you are not seeing standard edition. Need to find other way to purchase it

The final Edition is driven by your license key, so you can download Developer or Evaluation Edition and use your license key to install it as licensed Standard Edition.

I tried from the same link and I can see SQL Server 2014 standard Sp3. You can download Sp4 and and later upgrade

Hello,
Must be my MSDN subscription because even switching the filter to "All" there are no Std or Ent versions available. Might have a word with our re-seller.
Thanks

Hi Slartibartfast,
As Olaf mentioned, the Edition is driven by the license key, not by the installation media. So you need have SQL server 2014 standard license key and upgrade the SQL server edition from install media.
More license issue, please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. For international customers, please use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in your locations.
Hope this could help you.
Best regards,
Cathy Ji

Hi Cathy,
We don't license thru MS, we go through a licensing agent called "Bytes" here in the UK. I have installed multiple SQL servers in the last few months and the license key is always embedded in the .exe. As mentioned above, it appears that my MSDN subscription no longer has the rights to download paid versions so I have bounced this off to our licensing agent.

Hello.
I think you are right, seems like my subscription has changed and I no longer have the rights to download paid versions. I don't fully understand how licensing works but we never normally enter product keys, we just true-up with MS every 1 or 2 years.
Thanks
