I know this question has been asked previously - How can I lock the month calendar view as default?
The answer given is that "Whenever you go back to your Calendar it should come back in the view it was in when you left it."
Well, mine did not remember the last view whether in the same session or a new one and I know others have the same problem. Does anybody have some fresh insight? If we can lock email and contact views why not calendar? This is a prblem which has followed me from Outlook 2007 to 2010

Hi Farci,
To resolve this issue, please follow the step:
Open Outlook > ‘Calendar’ > Select the Month View > click the ‘View’ tab > ‘Change View’ > Select the option ‘Apply Current View to Other Calendar Folders' > select your calendar and click Ok.
Close and open Outlook to verify the resolution.

Only the wizards at Microsoft could come up with such an obscure way to set this default

It's amazing how little things can bug a person but this worked fine. Thank you

I have the opposite problem in OUtlook 2013. Somehow the Calendar view is locked so, no matter which Calendar view is active, if I go to mail, say, then back to Calendar, I am always in the very crowded month view. How can I get it to remember the view I was in (Day, say) and go back to that ? I tried undoing the steps in the answer below but that does not work.

Well, I had already tried this but it does not work. The problem is that when I open Outlook>"Calendar">Select the Month View - Oh wait right there - the Month View Icon is greyed out so nothing happens so the next steps will not do anything except mess up my other calendars.
So, here is what happened: I had Outlook 2010 open and sent an email which was a reply to a random email. The program crashed and automatically relaunched. Upon relaunch, the calendar was in list mode and I cannot do anything to get it back to Calendar View mode.
So, I need help. I have tried all of the logical things but no luck so far. When I found this forum, I thought there would be an answer but I have not found it yet.
Please help as calendars an not useful in list mode for much of anything.

Hello, I have the same issue as the prior post - Outlook crashed and now the calendar is in list mode. I can't do anything to get it to default back to Calendar View. I can manually change it each and every time, but this is not efficient. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
