Any suggestions?

    Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your waiting and I appreciate your kind patience, but it's really sorry that as a community moderator here I'm not allowed to contact you personally with emails. But don't worry, I requested a test device, and I managed to download some demo dwg files to test in Visio app where it seems like I failed to reproduce the issue you are experiencing currently that the Visio app will crash and quit when trying to open a dwg file. (My current Visio test environment is version 2501 and 2502.)

In this situation, if you are convenient, I would like to collect some results after deploying some troubleshooting tools on your side and see if we can find a way to narrow down the issue.

Please correct me if I made any misunderstanding and I will be here waiting for your updates to offer any further support.

Appreciate your time and patience. Hope you a nice day and stay safe!

    Best Regards,

    Mia

    Dear Mia,

I tried to start conversation on the private message channel opened by you but when I pressed "start conversation" I receive I have not a permission.

Please to connect our conversation to my official account to Microsoft trough my connection i*********@outlook.com

This is outside the connection trough

    ievg**iev@FD*****ia.bg

I am connected to FD*** because I am lecturing there but account is i*********@outlook.com.

Nevertheless my official email is i**@t***.bg. And I do not use the e-mail i*********@outlook.com for anything except to login in MS sites.

Here is a mess with all those accounts. This is a result of historical moving and changes.

Thanks for sharing back with me and know I understand that the issue happening on your side is that when you try to use dwg and dxf format files, the Visio desktop application will crash and automatically quit. In this situation, to make sure I can collect some deeper information from your side and offer you the appropriate troubleshooting methods, I have opened a private channel for you where you can share me directly:

    Hi Ivan,

As per the description, it seems like the recent update to Visio 2021 on January 25, 2025, has caused the function missing with converting to and from AutoCAD formats (DWG, DXF). To better confirm the scenario you are facing, I have tested on my side with Visio Plan 2 latest version 2502, and I have attached a screenshot for your confirmation. It seems like there has no options for DXF or DWG.
