Recently updated to new iOS and Microsoft family app keeps crashing. Have restart phone multiple times and uninstall and reinstalled app several times. Before the iOS update, app was giving errors on the notification page. Had to keep hitting refresh button and it would finally connect to Microsoft.

Hey everyone, good news! An update is now available which resolves this issue, with the new app version implementing the fix being 1.24.3. Please update to the newest version and see if the issue is resolved.

Based on some user experience, if you do not get the update offered you may have to uninstall the app first, then reinstall to get the new version.

Mine is working as well. Did something else, by accident. Have an iphone 13 with the latest update, and the app was crashing like everyone else's here, now it it no longer crashing, not touching the location which is still on for the app.

    This "accident" in detail:

    • There is a way to close apps in the iphone, you just slide up the app and then you have all the apps opened one behind the other, then you slide the app you want to close all the way up and the app is closed.
    • Now this, if you just open the app for family safety and then IMMEDIATELY slide up the app just to see it with the other opened apps, just keep it there for a few seconds, the app wont shut down, and you can get back to it.
    • Do not remember if I had to do this once or twice, but now the app opens up normally and keeps opened as it used to. Seems that something is the IOS is changed or triggered when the app goes into that opened app listing state, and it fixes the issue.

    My two cents, good luck!

    Javier

I have however found a fix for this. Since turning off location services for the MS family security app it is no longer crashing. :)

    Hi Everyone

I have been in same trouble with new IOS update.

How i managed it, i created my own app shortcut.

Go to Microsoft family safety online on Safari, sign in to ur account, go to other options, save page to home screen..

Until IOS/Microsoft fix this issue, i am using it to manage screen time and apps for kids.

    Hope it helps
