After the latest update on Microsoft Edge, I am getting an edgeservices.bing.com url that runs and never stops whenever I start Edge

I updated Edge to 112.0.1722.34, and ever since then whenever I open Edge, the startup page is briefly displayed and then the following URL is executed and never stops: https://edgeservices.bing.com/edgesvc/shell?lightschemeovr=1&FORM=SHORUN&udscs=1&udsnav=1&setlang=en-US&clientscopes=noheader,coauthor,chat,docvisibility,visibilitypm,&udsframed=1&adlt=strict If I log into another user on the same laptop, Edge opens correctly. How can I get Edge to not execute the above command? I'm running on Windows 10 Home 22H2 and Windows update is current.

I'm getting the same thing, auto-redirects a few seconds after opening the browser, then doesn't happen again until I close and reopen it.

I tried resetting the values to default. It started normally once and the next time I started it, the same annoying thing happened. Windows update is current, running on 10 Home 22H2

I am having the same issue. The logo is "Bing's" logo so I guess they have something to do with stopping computers from accessing PDFs. I've found that I can still click and drag PDFs into my email and then open them from my iPhone. However, I need access on my computer as I'm sure everyone else does too. Hopefully they fix this mess and don't try whatever exactly they were trying again.

Just figured out the issue on my end. Maybe it will work for you too. Delete your edge account in the upper right corner if it says that it cannot sign in. I never created an Edge account and have never tried to but with this last update suddenly it wants me to have an Edge account. Once I selected "Remove account," I was able to open up PDFs on my computer again. It just puts a warning prompt above stating that I am not signed in but as for the files it appears I can open them again.

I have the same issue. 1 user account with Bing shell page pop up even though Bing is deleted. I completely deleted this user account and created another and the next day after the Microsoft update this is happening again. How do we fix the Bing shell page redirect from the update??

I have just updated the window and found the upload function in outlook is not working, having printing error with printer, an app by the organization is not able to be launched. I am having phobia to update anything my microsoft in the future. Some many functions are not working. Very annoying.

This is a problem always happening, I open my edge and then a few seconds later it opens up this edge services loading screen which never stops.

It seems that the bing discover option (sidebar) is causing the issue. Deactivation did not solve the issue but starting Edge with the msUndersideButton feature disabled works for me. I simple created a new Edge link on the desktop with target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" -disable-features=msUndersideButton" . Now the bing discovery doesn't get called. Will wait and try to reenable the feature later after some update cycles.

Daniel answer with 2 changes worked for me with child account. Add --disable-features=msUndersideButton as an additional argument in shortcut target field. Note --dis instead of -dis.... Ok Lemme explain for those who didn't get this first you have to browse here "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application" they you will see a .exe file "msedge", right click it open properties find box named "Target" where you can see this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" -something " now u have to replace that something and paste -disable-features=msUndersideButton without any quotation (DON'T FORGET TO CLICK APPLY.) hope this helps :D

yes change the top 2 options in system/performance in edge settings. disable both start quickly and run extensions in background. I cannot believe this worked after trying everything else!

This works for the browser startup issue redirecting to the shell page, but I found that when I tried to log into a site, edge navigated to the shell page again.

I just experienced the same. Clicking a link from a different application caused this for me in a brand new Windows 11 setup where I configured the Windows 11 from scratch and then applied all Windows updates. The thing is that you need to configure a Microsoft account and I did setup a brand new Microsoft account to be used. When I clicked the little Account icon in Edge in the upper right corner it had this text reading "Not completed" or something similar. So, I clicked it and now it just reads "Synchronization complete" or whatever it reads in your language. After I did that the problem was gone.
