What's new in Microsoft Sustainability Manager - August 2025

The August 2025 release of Microsoft Sustainability Manager includes these updates. Check back throughout the month for new updates and links to documentation as they are available.

Release information

These dates indicate when you can manually update an environment for testing and when sandbox and production environments update automatically. To update an environment manually, see Manage Dynamics 365 apps in the Power Platform documentation.

Updates

Fixes

Incremental refresh will update the entire dataset

Incremental refresh on import connections should pick up only new or updated datasets instead of the entire dataset. There was an underlying platform issue with the dataflows. This issue is fixed now.

Calculation model nodes are not updated when the source is changed

When a user updated the activity data in the source node of a calculation model, any preexisting reporting nodes kept pointing to the old activity data. This issue is fixed now.

Renewable energy visuals doesn't support higher precision of data

The visual is updated to show higher decimal precision information.

Check-in on goals for Purchased electricity (emissions) would show zero as the aggregated value

Fixed the issue with the query for the aggregated computation logic to return a non-zero value.

Calculation model generation using Generative AI throws error

The issue was due to a change in the underlying platform capability that needed additional headers as per the error message being shown to end users. The fix is implemented within the plugin code to augment the request with additional headers.

CSRD report is missing data for Scope 2 sources

This issue was due to missing data while creating the report. This issue is fixed now.

DEFRA 2024 Water treatment emission factor has incorrect value

The factor values are updated as per the standards.

Product category visual on emissions insights is not working

The visual is fixed to show the split by product category.

IEA libraries are missing some factor mappings

The factory library data is updated to include the missing records.

OCID column is missing in Greenhouse gases and Employee commuting

The column is added to the data model to support upsert operations.

Condition node in calc model doesn't show some reference data table

The issue occurred due to a limit set on the query. This issue is fixed now.

Data connection lookup maintenance removal

Previously, data connections—created at the point of ingestion—were being maintained even after the data was calculated. This caused confusion and inefficiencies, as systems continued to reference irrelevant connection lookups, making it difficult to distinguish between raw (precalculated) and processed (calculated) emissions data.

The maintenance of data connection lookups post-calculation is now removed. This change ensures that after data is calculated, its connection metadata is no longer retained unnecessarily. As a result, organizations can now clearly differentiate between calculated and precalculated emissions, improving traceability and reducing lookup overhead.
