Failed to connect Ethernet switch port. The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002). After upgrading to Windows 10, version 1709.

Question

I just upgraded to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709)

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.64]

After upgrading, Windows didn't have the correct driver for the Ethernet adapter (Intel I217-LM). After troubleshooting, Windows automatically installed a driver and the computer is connected and has Internet connection.

However, the bridge and the virtual switch are gone. In Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections, there is only one physical adapter showed up. I tried recreating a virtual switch in Hyper-V but I got the following error.

I have upgraded the network adapter driver to the latest version from Intel website. But the problem still persists. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

[Main Instruction]
Error applying Virtual Switch Properties changes

Hello,

You can take a try the method mentioned in the KB article below.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3101106/you-cannot-create-a-hyper-v-virtual-switch-on-64-bit-versions-of-windo

If it doesn't help, you may need to reinstall the Hyper-V feature.

This similar issue has been discussed a lot in the thread below, and this is a forum covering questions about System Center Virtual Machine Manager, you may post your question here for getting better support.
