Cant get network printer to work, Kyocera.

Question

Hi,

I have tried many different ways to install a Kyocera FS-C2026MFP+ network printer to my companys print server, so we can share it on our network so people can install it over the network and print from it. But the printer already failed to print directly from the server right after the installation of the drivers/printer. Tried all kind of different drivers.

The Printer works fine over the network if you install the driver manually on each computer. But I cant manage to get the printer to work from the Print Server. We have two other network printer installed on the server and they are shared and works fine to install over the network and also print directly from the print server works fine. How ever this Koycera wont work, have deleted all drivers from the print server, from regedit etc and reinstalled it a fewtimes with different drivers. The driver that works on the working machines does not work on the driver either.. So Im kind of clueless at the moment on the next step of try. Don't know what more I can try or do to get it to work.

Running a windows server 2003 x86. The people in our office runs mostly windows 7 machines. Some of them have installed the printer manually because thats the only way it works at the moment.

Anyone have a good suggestion on what I can do?

I would try the Kyoceral universal driver and see if you cna get the server to print. Delete the current port you are useing and create a new one.

Since the server is X86 and the workstations x64 you will need to install the x86 driver on the server  install the printer and share it.

Download the x64 driver onto a x64 workstation

Browse to the following

\servername\Printers

Right click on the printer go sharing addditional drivers and add the x64 driver. You have to install and x64 bit driver onto the server using an x64 machine.

The users machines is mostly x64. But that doesnt matter? Since manually u can install the right driver in them and get the printer to work over the network. But the server with right drivers cant even print?
