1. Check Sharing Settings on All PCs
A. Go to:
Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings
Expand All Networks
Make sure the following are set:
Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders
Turn off password protected sharing
Repeat this on all three PCs.
B. On Windows 10/11, also check:
Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Sharing options
2. Check User Accounts
If you want to access shared folders without credentials, either:
Use the same username and password on all PCs.
Or, disable password protected sharing (as above).
3. SMB Settings
Since you have SMB enabled, also check that SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is enabled if you have older devices, but for Win10/11, SMB 2 or 3 should be sufficient.
4. Credential Manager
Since you have “no credentials” in Windows Credential Manager, Windows will prompt for credentials if password-protected sharing is enabled.
Disabling password-protected sharing (see Step 1) should fix this.
5. Firewall
Make sure that the File and Printer Sharing exception is enabled in Windows Firewall on all PCs.
6. Restart All PCs
After changing these settings, restart all PCs to ensure settings take effect.
If you want to keep password protection, create the same user account (username/password) on all PCs and use that account to log in.
