How AI apps and agents work
Dragon Copilot extensions receive rich contextual data from Dragon Copilot, including:
- Patient context: Information from the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Audio turns: Turn-based provider and patient audio and transcripts.
- Clinical note: The current clinical note for analysis and processing.
- Transcript: The full encounter transcript for analysis and processing.
Extensions process this data and return outputs to Dragon Copilot, such as:
- Structured payload responses: Displayed as additional cards in the Dragon Copilot UI, including action buttons to enhance the note with this information. For more information, see Dragon Copilot adaptive card specification.
