Manage Dragon Copilot Chat

This feature is available for Dragon Copilot (physicians) and Dragon Copilot (nurses).

Dragon Copilot Chat gives users access to trusted information sources. Users can query these sources in Dragon Copilot to get answers based on credible clinical content.

As an administrator, you use Dragon admin center to manage access to Dragon Copilot Chat sources and tools to ensure that users have access to the right information for their role.

Important

All Dragon Copilot Chat sources and tools available for your environment are by default assigned to all users in your organization.

Prerequisites

Manage external sources

External sources are credible clinical information sources that are preconfigured in your environment and available for assignment to your users.

View external sources

To view the external sources that are available to your organization:

  1. In the Environment configuration section of the navigation pane, select Dragon Copilot Chat.
  2. Verify you selected the correct environment in the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  3. Select Extenral sources.

To search for a specific source, enter the name in the search field.

To sort the list in alphabetical/reverse alphabetical order, select the Source name column header in the list.

Use the filter options to filter the list:

  • Capability: The Dragon Copilot capability the source is assigned to. Select one of the following options: Nurses, Physicians.
  • Status: The publication status of the source. Select one of the following options: Unpublished, Published.
  • Assignment scope: The healthcare group the source is assigned to. If the Capability filter is applied, only groups for the selected capability are displayed.

Assign external sources

You can assign sources to Dragon Copilot capabilities so that users have access to sources relevant to their role.

When sources are assigned, users can enable them in their settings. Users only receive responses from the sources they've enabled.

To assign an external source:

  1. In the Environment configuration section of the navigation pane, select Dragon Copilot Chat.
  2. Verify you selected the correct environment in the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  3. Select External sources.
  4. Select one or more sources you want to assign, then select Assign.
  5. Select the capabilities (Physicians and/or Nurses) that should have access to the selected sources.
  6. Select Save changes.

Manage Dragon Copilot Chat tools

The Tools tab on the Dragon Copilot Chat page allows you to manage access to Dragon Copilot Chat tools.

The following Dragon Copilot Chat tools are currently available:

  • Coding suggestions: Responds to questions specific to medical coding, such as identifying relevant ICD‑10 codes based on clinical context.

View tools

To view available tools:

  1. In the Environment configuration section of the navigation pane, select Dragon Copilot Chat.
  2. Verify you selected the correct environment in the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  3. Select Tools.

To search for a specific tool, enter the name in the search field.

To sort the list in alphabetical/reverse alphabetical order, select the Name column header in the list.

Assign tools

You can assign Dragon Copilot Chat tools to Dragon Copilot capabilities so that users have access to the tools relevant to their role.

When tools are assigned, users can enable them in their settings.

To assign a tool:

  1. In the Environment configuration section of the navigation pane, select Dragon Copilot Chat.
  2. Verify you selected the correct environment in the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  3. Select Tools.
  4. Select one or more tools you want to assign, then select Assign.
  5. Select the capabilities and specialities that should have access to the selected tools.
  6. Select Save changes.
