How to use Microsoft Print to PDF on windows Server 2012 r2

Question

Tuesday, July 12, 2016 3:20 PM

Hi,

I tried uploading the drivers from Windows10 and using the Have a disc option while installing a new File to Print port printer, but it gives an error saying "Cannot install the driver - The system cannot find the specified file".

The server is used for Remote Desktop Host

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

According to my research, you can use built in "Microsoft Print to PDF" option in Windows 10 but cannot in Windows Server 2012.

I think you may need some third-party PDF printer software.

In previous operating systems, it has not been possible to use the Type 4 print drivers from a newer operating system on an older one.

I'll give it a try next week but it's not a supported configuration and never part of the design.
