Server manager in Windows 10 has disappeared

Question

Friday, August 26, 2016 5:12 PM

Hello all,

10 days ago, we installed RSAT for Windows 10 at laptop with Windows 10 Pro .

After some issues we had working configuration where:

Server Manager ans Hyper-V Manager WAS with connection to 2 physical servers: HYPER-V2012R2 and WINDOWS SERVER STANDARD 2012R2.

One week after, Hyper-V Manager continues to work and connect fine.

But, Server Manager disappeared from administrative tools, from pinned, from start menu. Even search of complete disk didn't give result. We tried reinstall of RSAT, but with no success.  Server manager still missing in our Windows 10 Pro laptop.

Suggestions? Advises?

Thanks!

Hi Iskren,

I appreciate that you could post issues to here.

I tried my best to search solution about this issues, but I did not find specific documents to descript and fix it.

I suggest that you could post issue to windows 10 forum for more helpful solutions.

Best Regards

John

Microsoft decided to eliminate it in favor of WAC (Windows Admin Center). BIG drawback is that it only supports Server 2012 R2 and above AND you have to install WMF 5.0 or higher on all your servers.

After much complaining they released a patch to re-install the old Server Manager tools in Ver 1803:
