AMD High Definition Audio Device Has No Stereo Mix

Question

Sunday, July 31, 2011 1:52 PM

How can I get a stereo mix option on my AMD HD Audio,

Please bare in mind that the display unplugged & disabled devices boxes are ticked and that I have checked the AMD website...

Thanks in advance.

Looks like you have four audio devices.

hdaudio.sys and usbaudio.sys are the Microsoft class drivers for HD Audio and USB audio, respectively; they don't expose a stereo mix.

I'm guessing the AMD driver is for the HDMI output on your video card, which can also carry audio.  As this is digital, I wouldn't expect a stereo mix here either.

Your best bet for a stereo mix is to download the Realtek HD audio driver and install it on the HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC device.

Erm, There's no realtek sound card? What do you mean?

VEN_10EC is Realtek.  This is probably the onboard HD Audio codec.

Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD et al are a bunch of f*****g c***s and have deliberately not put in stereo mix because they mistakenly think it's RIAA MPAA computer and not yours.

DRM at it's worst, intentionally removing your fair use rights because some ****s in a corporation don't want you to record their stuff.

I'm trying to record something legitimately now but having difficulty because of this, the irony is that these measures won't stop pirates in the least.

CrossedFingers, take a look at using WASAPI loopback recording instead of Stereo Mix to record your outputs:
