An Azure communication platform for deploying applications across devices and platforms.
Thank you for your feedback. We understand the concern, particularly if you have recently migrated your applications to Azure Communication Services.
Microsoft announced that Azure Communication Services (ACS) as a standalone offering will retire on September 30, 2028. According to Microsoft documentation, this decision reflects Microsoft's evolving strategy to prioritize deeply integrated communication experiences within Microsoft platforms, specifically Teams, Dynamics 365, and Azure, while working with leading Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) providers to address standalone communication scenarios
For ACS Email, the service is included among the capabilities being retired. Customers with applications that depend on retiring ACS services should plan and complete their migration before September 30, 2028 to avoid service disruption.
Importantly, this does not mean all ACS capabilities immediately stop working. Existing ACS resources created before October 23, 2026 can continue supporting their current business workloads during the transition period. Microsoft began limiting onboarding and expansion of retiring ACS services from October 23, 2026.
For some calling capabilities, Microsoft is making breaking changes rather than fully retiring the underlying capability, with continued use aligned to supported Microsoft Teams scenarios such as Teams Phone Extensibility and Teams Meeting Interoperability.
