A Microsoft offering that enables tracking of cloud usage and expenditures for Azure and other cloud providers.
Microsoft Teams does not appear as an Azure resource in the Azure portal; administer it through the Microsoft Teams admin center instead. ^1^
Find and manage Microsoft Teams
- Open the Microsoft Teams admin center at the address documented in the Teams guidance:
https://admin.teams.microsoft.com. - Sign in using your organization’s work or school administrator account.
- Select Teams → Manage teams to view the teams in your organization. ^2^
Access requires an appropriate role, such as:
- Global Administrator
- Teams Administrator
- Teams Reader for read-only access; this role currently requires a Teams license to access Manage teams and channels. ^2^
For user licensing, use the Microsoft 365 admin center, not Azure Portal. Teams licenses are managed through Users → Active users or the Licenses page, and the administrator needs at least User Management Administrator privileges. ^3^
About Azure credits and Cost Management
Azure credits do not cause Teams to appear in the Azure Portal. Teams is a Microsoft 365 service rather than a resource deployed into an Azure subscription.
Azure credits generally do not cover software subscriptions or licenses that are not billed as Azure consumption. ^4^ Therefore, credits received through a program such as Stripe Atlas normally cannot be applied to a separate Microsoft Teams or Microsoft 365 license unless that credit offer explicitly states otherwise.
To inspect the Azure credit itself, use Azure Portal → Cost Management + Billing and select the relevant billing account or subscription. Cost Management can report eligible cloud costs, but available credits are not included in the displayed cost totals. ^5^
If the Teams admin center opens but displays no organization or teams, verify that you signed in with the work account belonging to the same Microsoft 365 tenant—not a personal Microsoft account or an account from another tenant.
