Artifact Signing still serves expired certificate after profile renewed - every sign request fails

My Artifact Signing account (East US, Basic tier, Public Trust profile) cannot sign anything. The service keeps using an expired certificate.

  • Identity validation: Completed, valid until 6/19/2027
  • Certificates renewed every day from 2026-06-19 to 2026-10-16, then stopped for a week
  • New Active certificate issued 2026-10-23 (valid to 10/26), thumbprint 1A0E7755B93F47FC6EE90A4C0C666089F2D4AF09
  • But signing still uses the expired 10/16-10/19 certificate, thumbprint CA01769E42B27B70EF57426E83244139A8A8A51C

What I tried:

  • dotnet sign 0.9.1-beta: "The certificate is expired. Failed to sign."
  • Microsoft signtool.exe + Artifact Signing Client Tools 0.1.128: server returns status "Failed"
  • Failed operation IDs: 957e66c4-9efc-4de2-b38f-9cd42a4d8696 (2026-10-23 17:00:26 UTC) and 1bad3d00-6462-4409-b14a-e05256f2c1af (2026-10-23 17:21:35 UTC)
  • Endpoint, account, profile name, login and the Certificate Profile Signer role are all correct.

I was told not to recreate the profile. Can the Artifact Signing team make the service use the current Active certificate for my profile?

    Hi R M,

This may be a service-side certificate selection issue. Since the profile has a new active certificate but signing still uses the expired one, contact Azure Support and request an Artifact Signing backend investigation.

Provide both certificate thumbprints, failed operation IDs, and UTC timestamps. Avoid recreating the profile until Microsoft investigates.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
