Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Dear Kelvin Stoner,
I understand that the PDF attachment is accessible through webmail and on your older computer running Classic Outlook 2016, but Classic Outlook 2024 displays the message “Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachment.” To help narrow down whether this is specific to the airline email or to attachment handling in Outlook 2024, could you please confirm whether the same issue occurs with PDF attachments from other trusted senders.
Outlook may block shortcut files as a security measure, while URLs pasted directly into the email body should not be affected in the same way. If the sender is sending a shortcut file as an attachment, please ask them to compress the shortcut into a .zip file and resend the .zip file as the attachment.
In this case, please refer to this article Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments and follow the troubleshooting steps provided there. After completing the applicable steps, please check whether the PDF attachment now appears in Classic Outlook 2024.
Kindly let me know how it goes. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
