Problem description
I submitted an Azure Communication Services short code application on July 9, 2026, with an expected readiness date of September 3, 2026. However, after that date passed, I noticed that the application status remained 'Submitted' with no updates or email communications regarding its progress. I am concerned about the delay and want to understand the current status and next steps.

I have reviewed the Azure portal for application status, which remains 'Submitted.' I have checked my email inbox, including spam and junk folders, for any updates or requests for additional information, but have found no correspondence from Azure or related authorities. Current status
As of now, the application still shows no change in status beyond the initial 'Submitted.' I am seeking clarification on whether the application is still under review, if additional information is required, or if there are other issues causing the delay. Azure Communication Services documentation states that Short Code registration with carriers typically takes 8–12** **weeks after the program brief is submitted. The target date selected in the application is therefore not necessarily the final approval date, as the application must also complete the carrier review process.
Since your application was submitted on July** 9, **2026 and continues to show Submitted, I recommend the following next steps:
- Check the email address associated with the application, including the spam/junk folders, for any request for additional information. If updates to the application are required, the service desk will notify you by email and enable the application for updates.
- As the application is now around the documented 8–12 week review period, please create an Azure** Support **request so the status of the specific Short Code application can be investigated. Microsoft documentation directs customers to contact support for issues with submitted Short Code applications.
- When contacting support, please provide your Short** Code Program Brief **ID, along with the relevant Azure Communication Services resource/subscription details. The Program Brief ID is used to identify a Short Code application during troubleshooting.
Please note that carrier approval itself is part of the Short Code registration process, so there isn't a portal-side configuration change that can be used to bypass that review.
