Hello Microsoft Nonprofit / Azure Sponsorship Support,

Our organization, Yayasan Learn Quran, is unable to renew its USD 2,000 annual Azure grant. The grant expires on 5 October 2026, and the renewal attempt on 30 September 2026 failed even though the portal displayed "Renew now" and indicated that the renewal date was 5 days away.

We retried the renewal while signed in as Galih, but the same error persists.

In a moderator update dated 22 April 2026, a similar renewal failure was reported as resolved after the backend billing team corrected an entitlement synchronization issue and manually renewed the grant. We are sharing this as a troubleshooting reference, not as confirmation that our case has the same cause.

REQUESTED ASSISTANCE

  1. Investigate the failed renewal, including entitlement synchronization and account/billing-profile mapping. Please also clarify whether the diagnostic label "Environment: Test" is relevant to this failure.
  2. Escalate to the appropriate Azure Sponsorship / backend billing team and assist with manual renewal if necessary.
  3. Confirm successful renewal for the next annual period, the new expiration date, and the correct application of the USD 2,000 credit to our existing grant setup.
  4. Please prioritize this case before 5 October 2026 and advise how we can avoid a gap in grant coverage or unexpected pay-as-you-go charges while this issue is being resolved.

Based on the error occurring during the renewal workflow itself, and given that the nonprofit status remains approved, this appears more likely to require intervention from the Azure Sponsorship / Nonprofit support team than additional tenant-side troubleshooting.

I recommend opening a support request through the nonprofit support channels and including the Transaction ID, Nonprofit ID, Tenant ID, and screenshots from the failed renewal attempt. The diagnostics you've collected should help the backend team investigate entitlement, billing-profile, or renewal-processing issues.

Since the grant expires on 5 October, I would also explicitly ask the support team how to avoid a lapse in coverage while the renewal issue is being investigated.
