Unable to Reactivate Azure Pay-As-You-Go Subscription – Payment Issue

I need assistance reactivating my Azure Pay-As-You-Go subscription.

My subscription is currently disabled and the Azure Portal displays the following message:

“This subscription is disabled because payment wasn’t received. Settle outstanding charges.”

The subscription has a “Reactivate” option, but I am unable to successfully reactivate it.

I have checked the billing and payment sections and I am trying to resolve the outstanding payment issue. However, the subscription remains disabled and I cannot return it to an Active state.

I am the Account Administrator for this subscription.

Subscription type:

Pay-As-You-Go

Current status:

Disabled

Issue:

Unable to reactivate the subscription after the payment issue.

Could a Microsoft Azure Billing/Subscription support engineer please check the subscription and billing status and advise what is preventing the reactivation?

I would like to reactivate the existing subscription and keep the existing Azure resources rather than creating a new subscription.

I can provide the Subscription ID and billing information privately if required.

Thank you.

    Hey there, Mahmoud Nouh

Paying an outstanding balance can be done, but it depends on if it is a Microsoft Customer Agreement bill or a Microsoft Online Services bill to how this can be done, along with what roles you have. You can find out what billing account type you have by signing into the Billing Scopes page on the Cost Management & Billing blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/AllBillingScopes

Once you have signed into your account, please look at the billing account type column on the left-hand side of the My role column.

For this answer, I am going to provide you with instructions on how to pay a past due invoice as though your billing account type is a Microsoft Online Services Program account type. If your the billing account type is a Microsoft Customer Agreement bill, please see the guidance in this article here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/understand/pay-bill

To pay your past due invoice, please can you sign into the invoices page on the Cost Management & Billing blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/Invoices

Please make sure you have signed into an account that is an administrator. If so, you should see a link that says "Settle balance". This will allow you to pay your bill using the payment method you have saved, or have the option to add a new one to use.

If you are signed into an administrator account, but don't see the option to settle the balance. Please can you check if your region is listed underneath,

    • AT: Austria
    • AU: Australia
    • BE: Belgium
    • BG: Bulgaria
    • CA: Canada
    • CH: Switzerland
    • CZ: Czech Republic
    • DE: Germany
    • DK: Denmark
    • EE: Estonia
    • ES: Spain
    • FI: Finland
    • FR: France
    • GB: United Kingdom
    • GR: Greece
    • HR: Croatia
    • HU: Hungary
    • IE: Ireland
    • IT: Italy
    • JP: Japan
    • KR: South Korea
    • LT: Lithuania
    • LV: Latvia
    • NL: Netherlands
    • NO: Norway
    • NZ: New Zealand
    • PL: Poland
    • PT: Portugal
    • RO: Romania
    • SE: Sweden
    • SK: Slovakia
    • TW: Taiwan

If you are located in one of those regions above, please use this link to pay now instead: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/understand/pay-bill#pay-now-in-the-azure-portal

This is due to the following regions not having the settle invoice option within the portal. Instead it is called pay now rather then settle balance.

For further information on how to do this, please visit this article here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/resolve-past-due-balance

If you run into any problems with this, please let me know and I can troubleshoot this with you or see if an agent can help you with this.

    Hope this information helps,
    Nathan
