Azure Free Trial Subscription Disabled for Security Reasons - Unable to Create Support Ticket

Hello Microsoft Team,

My Azure Free Trial subscription has been disabled with the following message:

"Your account or subscription is disabled for security reasons. We detected suspicious activity or terms of use violations and disabled your subscription to protect the owner of the payment instrument and Microsoft. If you believe this is an error, continue to submit a support ticket with the security team to review the decision."

I believe this may be a false positive and would like the subscription to be reviewed.

The issue is that I am unable to create a support ticket. When I navigate to Help + Support and click "Create a support request", the portal only redirects me to community resources and troubleshooting articles instead of allowing me to contact the Security/Fraud Review team.

Details:

  • Subscription Type: Azure Free Trial
  • Subscription Status: Disabled for security reasons
  • Unable to create support request from Azure Portal
  • Issue persists across browsers and sessions

Could a Microsoft moderator please advise how I can contact the Security team or have my subscription reviewed when support ticket creation is unavailable?

I can provide the Subscription ID and any additional verification information through a private channel if needed.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best Regards,

Anshul Dixit

    Hi Anshul,

I completely understand how frustrating it is to get locked out of a new trial, especially when the portal loops you back to generic help articles instead of letting you file a proper appeal ticket.

When a subscription is disabled for security reasons right at the start, it is usually an automated flag triggered by the payment verification system or an ip-address mismatch during sign-up. Because the subscription is locked, standard technical support ticket creation gets disabled along with it.

Since the Azure Portal is blocking you from creating a ticket directly, here is the official workaround to bypass the loop and get this over to the billing and security team:

How to open an account appeal outside the portal

    1. Go directly to the public Azure Support Center (make sure you sign in with the exact Microsoft account associated with your disabled Azure trial).
    2. For the Issue Type, select Billing (do not select Technical or Security, as those will block you again).
    3. Under the Problem Type, select Subscription Management or Account Blocked / Activation Issues.
    4. In the description, clearly state: "My Free Trial subscription was automatically disabled for security reasons immediately upon creation. I am completely locked out of standard support channels in the portal and need a manual review by the fraud/security team."

Once you submit this via the Billing route, a support engineer will manually hand off your case internally to the subscription validation team to clear the false positive. Keep an eye on your inbox, as they may ask you to confirm a few details regarding your payment card registration.

Hang tight, and let us know if the billing path successfully bypasses the loop for you!

    Best regards,
