Communication Services: Request for Increased Email Quota to Add MailFrom Address — Verification and Default Limits Issue

We use Azure Communication Services Email for transactional email from our application.

Our custom domain is fully verified with SPF, DKIM and DKIM2 and is connected to our Communication Services resource.

We need to add an additional MailFrom address, for example:

`******@ourdomain.co.uk

`The + Add button under MailFrom addresses remains disabled because the domain appears to still be using the default sending limits.

We requested an increase to:

30 emails per minute

500 emails per hour

Can Microsoft confirm whether the requested quota increase has been applied and, if so, why the additional MailFrom option is still unavailable?

Hi Sam,

While you are waiting for response to your quota increase request you may add additional MailFrom via Azure CLI (example) / PowerShell (example) .

When did you submit your Service and subscription limits (quotas) support request to increase your sending limit? It can take several business days to receive a response.

Which enum did you select? Reason I ask is, I've not seen option for 30/minute, 500/hour). Please see screenshot below with list of options:

In Azure portal, if you navigate to your Email Communication Service, next click on Settings -- Provision domains, then click on your Custom domain. You should see Email send quota per minute and Email send quota per hour.

Please note Azure Communication Services Email (ACS Email) is being RETIRED on September 30, 2028. If you are not already in production, you may want to consider deploying different transactional email solution instead of ACS Email. This will avoid headache of having to migrate a live production app to a new solution before the deadline.

    Hi TP,

Thanks very much, your Azure CLI suggestion worked perfectly. I was able to create the additional MailFrom address successfully even though the + Add button in the portal was disabled.

The sender is now provisioned and visible in Azure. The quota increase request is still open, but the immediate issue is resolved.

Also, thanks for flagging the ACS Email retirement date, I’ll keep that in mind for future planning.

    Much appreciated,

    Sam
