I'm trying to sign into outlook and excel on mobile, but whenever I try I get hit with a blank white screen that I can't do anything about.

So far I have made sure both my device and the apps are up to date, cleared the cache, and reinstalled both the apps and webview, but none of these have worked.

    Dear Ben Krick,

To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:

Are you using Android or iOS, and what is the device model and OS version?

Does the blank screen appear before or after you enter your email address and password?

Are you signing in with a work/school account or a personal Microsoft account?

Can you sign in successfully through a mobile browser at Microsoft 365?

Does the issue occur on both Wi-Fi and mobile data?

Can another account sign in successfully on the same device?

Is the device managed through Microsoft Intune, Company Portal, or another mobile device management solution?

If possible, please share a screenshot of the blank screen and the exact time of the latest failed attempt.

Your provided information will help me assist you more promptly and efficiently.

Since updating the apps/device, clearing cache, reinstalling the apps, and reinstalling WebView have already been tried, the next supported steps are:

    1. Update Android System WebView and Google Chrome from the Play Store, then restart the phone.
      • Outlook mobile uses Android WebView for sign-in pages.
      • If WebView or Chrome is outdated, Outlook can crash or fail to render the sign-in page correctly.
    2. Test the Microsoft account sign-in outside the app in a browser.
      • For Microsoft 365 apps, verify the username and password in a browser using the correct Microsoft 365 sign-in location.
      • For Outlook with a personal Microsoft account, use the sign-in helper tool to detect account issues.
      • If browser sign-in works but the app still shows a blank screen, the issue is likely app/device-side rather than the account itself.
    3. In Outlook mobile, try a local account reset.
      • Open Outlook > Settings > select the email account > Reset Account.
      • This is the documented reset step when the app shows incomplete or incorrect data.
    4. If Outlook is crashing on launch, remove and reinstall the app again after updating WebView and Chrome.
      • Microsoft’s Outlook mobile troubleshooting guidance specifically says to clear the browser cache on the device, then remove and reinstall the app.
    5. If this is a work or school account used with Microsoft 365, use self-service password reset if allowed, or contact the Microsoft 365 admin/technical support.
      • Outlook mobile guidance states that work or school account issues may need admin or technical support.
    6. If the issue is on Excel and other Microsoft 365 mobile apps as well, confirm the correct account is being used and that sign-in works in a browser.
      • Also verify the device meets app system requirements.

For the current symptoms, the strongest next path is:

    • update Android System WebView and Google Chrome,
    • restart the device,
    • verify sign-in in a browser,
    • then in Outlook use Settings > account > Reset Account.

If the blank white screen continues for a work or school account after that, escalation to the Microsoft 365 admin or technical support is the supported next step.
