Excel won't paste from Excel

My excel won't simply paste (Ctl + V) normally something copied from Excel. Only certain paste options paste, namely: Values, Formulas, and Paste Link. Whereas others do nothing: Paste, Transpose, and Formatting. Ctl + V does nothing. At one point a message popped up: "There's a problem with the clipboard, but you can still paste your content within this workbook." Though pop-up only came once, while this problem with pasting has occurred for several datys. Windows clipboard history is not enabled so the problem can't be that the Windows clipboard is full. I just updated to the latest version of Office a few days ago (16.0.14334.20906), so maybe there's a bug?

This is a known issue due to a recent update. See article https://support.microsoft.com/servicing/office/hotfix/excel/5002914

Are you using Office 2021 LTSC/Standard/Pro Plus editon - I am guessing so based on your current version number.

In this case, please type cmd in the search on the taskbar. Don't press enter key yet. Instead, choose "run as administrator" to launch Command Prompt.

Then run this command - copy the entire command, and make sure the quotation mark at the beginning is included to avoid syntax error. After you run it and restart, it should work. 

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.14334.20848

    Thanks very much, EmilyS726. Although by reverting back to an earlier version, I guess I'm vulnerable to all the vulnerabilities that this version was supposed to patch. Hopefully, Microsoft will update with a version that let's me have my cake while eating it too.
