My computer login uses my discontinued Shaw webmail and I am unable to change to my email and password. How do I resolve this?

    Hi Joanne Webber,

If your computer is still linked to the discontinued Shaw email address, the key thing to determine is whether that email is being used as your Microsoft account sign-in or simply displayed as the account name.

    Please try the following checks:

1, Check whether you can sign in to your Microsoft account online

    • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page.
    • Try signing in with the old Shaw email address.
    • If it still works, you may be able to add your current email address as an alias and make it the primary sign-in email.

2, If you can access Windows

    • Open Settings > Accounts > Your info.
    • Verify whether you're signed in with a Microsoft account or a local account.
    • If the Microsoft account is accessible, update the account information and preferred sign-in email.

3, If you cannot sign in

    • Use the Microsoft account recovery process to regain access to the account associated with the old email address.
    • Once access is restored, you can update the account's email aliases and sign-in preferences.

    Additional information that would help:

    • Are you currently able to sign in to Windows?
    • Do you still know the password for the account using the Shaw email address?
    • Do you receive a specific error message when attempting to sign in?

I hope this helps point you in the right direction. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
