Microsoft 365 Word doesn't work

My Microsoft 365 Word is slow to open files from OneDrive, then disappears with a circle going round when you try to edit.

I have spent hours over two days following instructions from bots and none have worked. I need a person to call me to fix this.

    Hello,

If the problem occurs specifically when editing OneDrive files and your local files work normally, here's what to check first.

    1

    Try resetting OneDrive.

You can follow the steps in the article below to reset it.

    Reset OneDrive

    2

If you are still having issues, I recommend unlinking your Microsoft account from OneDrive and then relinking it again. To do that,

    • Right-click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar, select Settings.
    • Then, go to Accounts > Unlink this PC.
    • Restart your PC and then link your Microsoft account.
    • Wait for OneDrive to finish syncing all your files.

Then, open the OneDrive folder from File Explorer.

Double-click the Word file that you wanted to edit.

See if it opens normally. (OR) Just drag the file into your local folder, then try opening it from there.

If you are experiencing the same issue with all of your files, you can try repairing Office applications

    • (Online Repair).

    Repair an Office application

Let me know if you still need more help.
