Import learning from previous school

Yes, but not by importing completed courses from a file.

The supported method is to add the old school account as a login account on the existing Microsoft Learn profile, or trigger a profile merge if the old school account is attached to a different Learn profile.

Steps:

1. Sign in to the Learn profile that should be kept as the main profile.
2. Select the profile icon in the top-right corner.
3. Select Settings.
4. Under Account Management, select Add Login account.
5. Sign in with the previous school account.
6. If that account is already associated with another Learn profile, it will trigger a Profile Merge.

What happens after a merge:

• Learning progress, credentials, and transcripts are combined into one profile.
• Sign-in remains possible with the login accounts on both profiles.
• Duplicate content is removed.
• The merge cannot be undone.

Important limits and requirements:

• A profile merge is allowed only when only one of the profiles contains a personal Microsoft login account.
• If the merge would exceed the limit of five work or school login accounts, the merge is canceled.
• There is no supported method to import the JSON/exported data into another profile.
• Continued access to at least one designated login account is required to keep access to the Learn profile and its achievements.

If access to the previous school account has already been lost, completed learning cannot be attached by uploading exported data. In that case, the practical path is to use any remaining valid login account already connected to the Learn profile, if available.
