I have a microsoft account that I have used for several years and am billed for monthly, currently my account won't let me do anything but view documents. This problem has just started in the past few weeks, it has occurred in excel and word. I have tried every possible log in and log in fix. Sometimes I get an OXO error, sometime I get a view only account message.

This is usually an Office activation problem rather than a problem with the documents. When Office cannot verify the subscription license, Word and Excel may switch to view-only mode.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Sign in to Microsoft Services & subscriptions with the account being billed. Confirm that Microsoft 365 is active and listed under that exact email address.
Check that your Mac is running macOS 12 Monterey or later. The recent “Unknown Error 0x0” or “License Not Found” issue requires a supported macOS version.
Close all Office applications. In Finder, open Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate, then select Update All. If Microsoft AutoUpdate is not shown there, check Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Microsoft > MAU2.0. The 0x0 issue was resolved through an Office update.
Restart the Mac, open Word, and sign out of every account shown. Sign back in only with the Microsoft account confirmed in step 1.
If Office remains view-only, it is recommended that you use Microsoft’s Office license removal tool for Mac, restart the Mac, and activate Office again.
