Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello Amanda Mathis,
I’m sorry you’re unable to receive the verification code.
Since the standard account-unlock and recovery options have already been covered by AI assist, please also check the following:
- Search your inbox, junk, spam, quarantine, and blocked-sender lists for messages from Microsoft. Add this domain as a trusted sender if your email provider supports that option.
- Verification emails can only be sent to the account’s primary alias or to an email address that was previously added as a sign-in verification method. Simply being able to use an address as the Microsoft account username does not necessarily mean that the same mailbox is configured to receive security codes.
- Stop requesting additional codes for now. Repeated requests can trigger another security block and prevent further codes from being delivered.
- If the recovery address is another Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, or MSN.com account, use two separate InPrivate or Incognito windows. Keep the password-reset page open in the first window, then sign in to the recovery mailbox in the second window to retrieve the code. This prevents the browser from signing you out of the account requesting the reset.
- If another verification method already appears, such as Microsoft Authenticator, a passkey, SMS, or a previously generated 25-digit recovery code, use that method instead of email.
- You may also try the request from another trusted network, such as switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, because a verification block can sometimes be associated with the current network or sign-in activity.
I hope one of these checks helps you receive the code and regain access.
