Since there is not a PC Version of Authenticator

I work from home and most of my contracts require a 2FA. I use Microsoft Authenticator on my phone and did not know that there was not a version for my laptop. Is there another authenticator (with the exception of Google Authenticator) that anyone suggests so that it is highly compatible with my windows 11 laptop and holds a max security within the program? I almost downloaded an authenticator that looked like it belongs to Microsoft but luckily caught the developer line and saw that it was not a Microsoft product but an AI model. 😫 For now I am going to just use Google Auth but would also like some suggestions as not all 2FA's are going to be compatible with Google. Thanks in advance!

You don't need a separate authenticator app for each device, the one on your phone will work for any number of client devices, since the items it's authenticating are accounts related to you and not the devices themselves.

That's why Microsoft's authenticator only works on phones, since that's a device you typically take with you wherever you go, allowing it to work not only for your Microsoft Personal account at home and Microsoft Work or School account when there, but also the opposite, since typically you might need those accounts in these different locations as well.

As far as I know there in no authenticator for the PC, because the authenticator provides an independent method of authentication.
