I logged in Fabric using Entra-ID but I didn't get the Fabric trial why
Hello,
I am trying to set up a Microsoft Fabric environment for learning purposes using a personal account. To work around the organizational email requirement, I created a brand-new tenant and a user profile within Microsoft Entra ID (using the default .onmicrosoft.com domain).
However, when I log into the Microsoft Fabric portal with this Entra ID account and try to activate the trial via the Account Manager profile icon, I receive an error stating: "A Fabric trial isn't available for your account."
Instead of getting the full Fabric capacity workloads (like Synapse Data Engineering, Data Factory, Lakehouses, etc.), my account defaults strictly to a Power BI Pro (59 days left) trial capacity.
What I have tried so far:
- Admin Portal Tenant Settings: As the global admin of this new tenant, I navigated to the Admin Portal and verified that both "Users can create Fabric items" and "Users can try Microsoft Fabric paid features" are explicitly toggled to Enabled.
- Direct Asset Creation: I attempted to force a trial activation by clicking "+ New" inside "My Workspace" to create a Lakehouse/Pipeline, but the Fabric options do not appear or allow activation.
It appears my new onmicrosoft.com tenant domain is being automatically flagged as ineligible for the automated free shared trial capacity.
Is there a known restriction on new Entra ID tenants for Fabric trials? How can I get a free trial capacity activated on this tenant so I can practice and study for my certifications?
Thank you!
