    Dear SHAH, Jay Bharatbhai,

Based on your description, Microsoft Teams currently does not provide a user setting or admin policy that makes every new meeting default to a channel meeting. Meetings created from Calendar > New event therefore start as regular meetings.

    Kindly try these workaround steps:

Open Teams and select the required channel.

Select the arrow next to Meet now.

    Choose Schedule a meeting.

Enter the meeting details and select Send.

Starting from the channel automatically associates the meeting with that channel. Everyone on the team can see and join it from the channel; depending on the current interface, you can also add specific attendees or enable personal invitations.

Alternatively, when creating a regular meeting from the Teams calendar, use Add channel and select the relevant team and channel before sending. A channel cannot be added or changed after the invitation is sent, so you would need to create a new invitation if the wrong channel was selected.

Note: Scheduled channel meetings are not supported in private channels.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction.

No. The available guidance only shows how to create a channel meeting when scheduling:

    • In Teams, go to Teams.
    • Select the team.
    • Next to Meet now, select the dropdown arrow.
    • Select Schedule a meeting.
    • Add attendees outside the team if needed.
    • Select Send.

A regular meeting can also be turned into a channel meeting by typing the channel name in the Add channel field while creating the meeting.

Related limits called out in the guidance:

    • Once the invite is sent, channels can’t be edited or added. A new invite is required to change the channel.
    • If channel meeting scheduling is turned off in the assigned meeting policy, new channel meetings can’t be created.
