Setting up future meetings with participants using Teams calendar or Outlook integration
If the meeting cannot be canceled in Teams and shows "Couldn't find event. It may have been deleted" but still remains on the calendar, the most reliable first step is to remove it from Outlook on the web instead of Teams.
- Open Outlook on the web and go to Calendar.
- Find the recurring meeting.
- Select the event.
- Choose Cancel if it is a meeting.
- When prompted, choose one of these options:
- This event
- This and all following events
- All events in the series
- If needed, add a message, then select Send.
If Outlook on the web also cannot remove it, try this Outlook cleanup path:
- Close Outlook and Outlook on the web sessions.
- Start Outlook again and try deleting the item.
- If it still fails, use Outlook on the web again as the recommended method for stuck calendar items.
- If Outlook desktop is available, close Outlook and run these switches one at a time:
-
outlook /cleanreminders -
outlook /cleandmrecords
-
Caution: close Outlook before running these commands.
If the issue is with a recurring meeting instance that failed to delete properly, the impacted recipient can use Outlook on Windows or Outlook Web Client (OWA) to remove the exception.
If the meeting was organized by someone else, it cannot be canceled. In that case, delete or decline it from the calendar instead. Only the meeting organizer can send a cancellation.
- Create, modify, or delete a meeting request or appointment in Outlook on the web
- You can't remove a calendar item or an email message in Outlook in Microsoft 365
- Meeting instances from recurring meetings fail to delete from the recipient's calendar in Outlook Mobile
- Cancel a meeting
- Delete an appointment or a meeting
