Dear all,

I have been facing issue with my teams account. I am unable to send the invitation directly to the attendees unless i copy the link and paste it.

Invitation should go directly to the email addresses which were written while creating a meeting invite but it's not the case. I have also got the subscription in a hope that it shall resolve the matter but ..............

    Hi @Ahmed Aijaz

Since you mentioned purchasing a subscription, could you let me know which Teams subscription you purchased (for e.g. Microsoft Teams Essentials or Microsoft 365 Business Basic) Also, are you using Teams with a personal Microsoft account or a work or school account?

To help me understand the issue further, could you also clarify the following?

    • Where are you scheduling the meeting: the Teams desktop app, Teams web, Teams mobile app, or Outlook?
    • Does this happen with all attendees or only with external email addresses?
    • After creating the meeting, does it appear in your Teams or Outlook calendar?
    • When completing the meeting details, do you select Send, or do you only see an option to save or copy the meeting link?
    • Have you already tried signing out of Teams and clearing the Teams cache?

If you have not cleared the cache, please follow the steps in Clear the Teams client cache, restart Teams, and sign back in. Clearing the cache may help if the issue is being caused by outdated or corrupted local Teams data

After clearing the Teams cache and signing back in, please create a test meeting using the following steps and make sure you create a scheduled meeting, rather than using Meet now or simply copying and sharing the meeting link.

    • Open Teams and select Calendar
    • Select New meeting or Schedule a meeting.
    • User's image
    • Enter the meeting details.
    • Add each attendee’s complete email address under Required attendees.
    • Make sure each email address is recognized and displayed as an attendee.
    • Select Send, rather than Save as draft.
    • User's image

For a Teams work or school account, selecting Send should send an email invitation containing the meeting link to the attendees. The meeting should also appear in the organizer’s Outlook calendar. For more information, see: Schedule a meeting in Microsoft Teams

Feel free to share the requested details when convenient. I look forward to hearing from you.

If the meeting invite is not being sent directly from Teams, the supported paths are:

    1. In Teams, open Calendar and create or open the meeting.
    2. Add attendees in Required attendees. For people outside the organization, enter the full email address.
    3. Select Send or Send update.

If direct email delivery from Teams still does not happen, use Outlook to schedule the Teams meeting instead:

    1. Open Outlook desktop or web.
    2. Go to Calendar > New event.
    3. Turn on the Teams meeting toggle.
    4. Add meeting details and invite attendees.
    5. Select Send.

This adds the Teams join details to the invite automatically after sending.

If Outlook does not show the Teams meeting option, the Teams Meeting Add-in requirements are:

    • A valid Microsoft 365 subscription that includes Teams
    • A Teams license assigned to the account
    • Outlook 2013 or later for classic Outlook
    • Windows for the add-in scenario
    • The Teams desktop app installed on the same machine as Outlook

If the account is using a non-Microsoft email setup, a documented workaround in similar cases is to send the meeting link manually, or schedule from Outlook so the primary email service handles delivery.
