Request: Reset Microsoft 365 Developer Program Enrollment (Old Sandbox Reappearing)

I need a full reset of my Microsoft 365 Developer Program enrollment. My old sandbox profile from 2020 keeps reappearing every time I try to register, even after deletion.

Please advise how to clear my backend Developer Program enrollment so I can create a new tenant.

The official support link returns 404 and redirects to Engage Center, which I cannot access.

Thank you.

    Hi @Ari Sperlby

According to Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Developer Program, eligibility for a Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription is currently limited and requires one of the following:

    • An active Visual Studio Professional or Enterprise subscription
    • Membership in the ISV Success Program
    • Participation in an eligible Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program tier
    • A Premier or Unified Support plan

If you are using a personal Microsoft account, the account must be associated with an active Visual Studio Professional or Enterprise subscription, or you must qualify through one of the supported programs listed above.

Although your previous subscription was deleted in 2020, the passage of time alone does not automatically make a new subscription available, as eligibility is reassessed based on the Microsoft 365 Developer Program’s current requirements. Since the dashboard still shows the old subscription as “Deleted subscription” without the “Set up subscription” or “Create new subscription” option, further review may be needed to confirm the account’s current eligibility and subscription provisioning status.

As this is a user-to-user support forum, so I do not have access to the internal systems required to investigate individual account eligibility or provisioning issues due to privacy and security constraints. I recommend reviewing the Microsoft 365 Developer Program FAQ, which provides the current eligibility criteria and additional guidance.

If you want to reset the subscription, you can contact Microsoft through Contact Us - Developer Supportand ask them to verify your Developer Program account’s eligibility and subscription provisioning status.

Please note that this is a paid support option and requires either an active support plan or a one-time support purchase. If you choose this option, your inquiry can be routed to the appropriate Microsoft team responsible for the relevant service or feature. The team has the appropriate expertise and resources to review complex or account-specific issues that cannot be investigated through the public support forum.

If you meet the current program eligibility criteria, please use an Alternate Microsoft Account (MSA). The fastest workaround is to sign up for the Developer Program using a clean, alternative Microsoft account that has never been linked to an M365 tenant.

I hope this helps clarify the current eligibility requirements and provides a path to investigate the missing subscription option.
