Outlook not Downloading to new Google Phone

I transferred my old Google phone to a new Google 11 today along with a new tablet, switching carriers. All contents from the prior phone transferred successfully to both the new tablet and new phone. My outlook work email icon is in the new phone. When I go to add the previous account, the email comes up but here are no folders or any emails (Non operational).

When I plug my email in manually, it gives me an error code and tells me to contact my administrator. I am not well versed when it comes to anything tech, this has never happened before, can anyone please point me in the right direction?

    Dear Mike Arnold,

To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:

What is the exact issue message or code? Could you share a screenshot of it (please remove personal information)?

Is the account a Microsoft 365 work account?

Can you access your email and folders through Outlook on the web?

Does the account still work on your old phone or another device?

Are you using the Microsoft Outlook app or the phone’s built-in email app?

Is the new device a Google Pixel 11, and which Android version is installed?

Does your organization require Microsoft Authenticator, Intune Company Portal, or device registration?

Your provided information will help me assist you more promptly and efficiently.

For a work or school Outlook account on a new Android phone, the most likely causes are either an account setup problem in the app or a sign-in/security requirement that must be approved by the organization.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Remove and re-add the account in Outlook for Android.
      • Open Outlook on the phone.
      • Go to Settings.
      • Remove the non-working work account.
      • Add it again.
    2. If prompted during setup, complete any required sign-in approval.
      • Some Android setups require Microsoft Authenticator or Company Portal to be installed and running.
      • If either app is already installed, open it first, then open Outlook again.
      • On some Android devices, power-saving or app optimization can block Authenticator or Company Portal from running correctly in the background.
    3. Check Android power-saving and app optimization settings.
      • Turn off power-saving mode if it is enabled.
      • Disable battery optimization for Authenticator or Company Portal so those apps can stay active.
      • Then open Authenticator/Company Portal first, and after that open Outlook.
    4. If calendar, contacts, or mailbox content still does not appear, make sure the account is added as Exchange/Exchange ActiveSync, not IMAP or POP.
      • IMAP and POP can sync email only.
      • They do not sync calendar or contacts.
      • Re-adding the account and choosing Exchange ActiveSync or Exchange is the supported setup for calendar and contacts sync.
    5. If Outlook still shows an error telling contact the administrator, involve the Microsoft 365 admin or IT support.
      • For work or school accounts that use Microsoft 365 for business or Exchange-based accounts, admin help is specifically recommended.
      • This usually means the organization may require additional security approval or device configuration.

If email worked before on the old phone and now fails only on the new phone, re-adding the account is the first step. If the account still cannot be added after that, the next best step is to have the Microsoft 365 admin check the account and device sign-in requirements.
