No longer works: My Template feature went away in lieu of Quick Parts no longer works either

I started using Quick Parts per MS directives when My Templates went away in Classic Outlook;

I was able to use the 2 text boxes for my closing and privacy statements to add to emails from Quick Parts however, even though its all under one account, the desk top had a different Quick Parts text in the two boxes that no longer applied. I tried to edit and it would only allow a delete and now I can't access the Quick Parts at all; I tried "syncing" and that did nothing. Will you please help? It isn't helpful that My Templates are gone and now Quick Parts as the only substitute is not sycning or editable? Please advise--thank you!

    Hi Kelly,

    Just to make sure I understand correctly, are you referring to Quick Parts showing different content on two different devices while using the same account?

    If so, based on my research, Quick Parts in Classic Outlook have traditionally been stored locally rather than automatically synchronized across devices, which may explain why the content can differ between machines even when the same account is being used.

    Regarding editing a Quick Part, there seems to be no direct in-place edit option. Instead, you typically need to:

    • Create a new email >Insert the existing Quick Part into the message body.
    • Edit the content as needed > Select the updated content.
    • Go to Insert > Quick Parts > Save Selection to Quick Part Gallery.
    • Use the same name as the existing Quick Part and click OK.
    • When prompted to redefine the building block, select Yes.

    If your goal is simply to have the same closing statement or privacy notice available across devices, you may want to consider using an email signature instead, as signatures may be handled differently from Quick Parts and can be more suitable for this type of content.

    To create a signature in Classic Outlook:

    • Go to File > Options > Mail > Signatures.

    User's image

    • Select New and enter a name for the signature.
    • Add your closing statement and privacy notice.
    • Click OK to save.

    I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to try the above steps and let me know whether they meet your needs.
