I am a Microsoft 365 Personal/Home subscriber with a Microsoft 365 Premium subscription. Up until yesterday afternoon, Copilot was available and functioning normally in Outlook for Mac. However, immediately after installing a software update, Copilot disappeared from Outlook and has not returned since.
I have already performed the standard troubleshooting steps, including refreshing my Microsoft 365 license across all Microsoft applications. The license refresh appears to have worked successfully in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps, where Copilot functionality remains available. The issue is isolated specifically to Outlook for Mac.
Because the timing coincides directly with the update, I am trying to determine whether this is:
- A bug introduced by a recent Outlook or Microsoft 365 update.
- A licensing or account validation issue affecting Outlook only.
- An intentional change to Copilot availability for personal Microsoft 365 subscribers.
My primary question is whether Microsoft has recently removed or limited Copilot access in Outlook for users with personal Microsoft accounts, or if this is an isolated issue affecting certain users after updating. Microsoft documentation and release information continue to reference Copilot features in Outlook, including support for Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium subscribers, which suggests the feature should still be available. At this point, I have:
- Confirmed my Microsoft 365 Premium subscription is active.
- Refreshed my Microsoft 365 license.
- Verified that Copilot still appears and works in other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Restarted Outlook and my Mac.
- Verified that Outlook recognizes my active subscription.
The only application where Copilot is missing is Outlook for Mac, and the problem began immediately after the software update.
I would appreciate confirmation as to whether this is a known issue, whether personal Microsoft 365 subscribers should still have access to Copilot in Outlook for Mac, and whether any additional steps are recommended.I am a Microsoft 365 Personal/Home subscriber with a Microsoft 365 Premium subscription.
