When try to run "Auto rewrite" or any other options in the copilot menu in Outlook for MacBook, receive that error. It keeps happening from this morning and am currently running the Sept 01 release version of office.

    Hi @Mahesh Sridharan,

Thank you for testing and providing those details.

As the initial troubleshooting steps have already been completed and the issue remains, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support for a more in-depth investigation.

    For business support:

    1. Find your Microsoft 365 admin: If you don't know who the global admin is in your organization, you can find guidance here: How can I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
    2. Submit a service request: The Global Administrator should create a support request with Microsoft to receive advanced technical assistance. For detailed instructions, see: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

If your subscription is from a partner or reseller, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.

    Please provide them with:

    • Your Outlook for Mac version and build number.
    • A screenshot of the error message.
    • Confirmation that the issue only affects the pen+ Copilot actions.
    • Confirmation that Copilot works normally in Outlook on the web and in the Outlook side pane.

Microsoft Support has access to diagnostic tools and service logs that are not available in the community forum and can help determine whether this is a client-side issue or a known product-related problem.

If you discover any solutions or have additional insights, please consider replying to this thread to help others in the community.

If you need further assistance, feel free to reply. I'm here and happy to help!

    1. Yes it occurs will all emails.
    2. Yes, it works fine with other application. Even within outlook, when I click the Copilot icon on the top, it works perfectly fine on the right panel opened. But when I try something on the both of the email and use the small pen+ icon and chose any option, it comes out with the error message.
    3. Yes it works in outlook web.
    4. Yes, tried sign out, reinstall, restart etc, but still the issue persists.
    5. On my system I have only my account and I have this issue.

    Hello @Mahesh Sridharan,

To help provide the most accurate and effective guidance, could you please share a bit more information about your setup and the issue you are experiencing?

    • Does this occur with all emails or only specific messages?
    • Are other Microsoft 365 Copilot features working normally in other applications, such as Word or Outlook on the web?
    • If you sign in to Outlook on the web and try the same Copilot action, do you receive the same error?
    • Have you already tried signing out of Outlook and signing back in, and if so, did the behavior change?
    • Does the issue affect only your account, or do other users/accounts experience the same behavior as well?

This additional context will help better understand your environment and avoid suggesting steps you may have already tried. It will also allow me to tailor our recommendations more effectively to your specific situation.

In the meantime, if you have not already done so, please try:

    • Signing out of Outlook and signing back in.
    • Restarting Outlook and your Mac.
    • Testing from a different network connection.
    • Checking whether Outlook and Microsoft 365 are fully up to date.
    • Removing and re-adding the affected account in Outlook.

I look forward to your response and will be happy to assist further.
