I want to add a NZ GST number to a payment I have already made. I purchased MS Office but didn't add my GST number. Can I do that now?

No. For Microsoft 365 purchases, the tax ID must be added before the invoice is generated. After the invoice is already generated, the tax ID can’t be added or modified on that invoice.

For future purchases, add the tax ID in the Microsoft 365 admin center:

Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Select Billing > Billing accounts.
Select the billing account.
Select Add tax ID.
Enter the tax ID and select Save.

If Add tax ID isn’t available, self-service tax ID management isn’t supported for that billing account or region.

Was Office purchased through a personal Microsoft account, or through a Microsoft 365 business account?

The steps for adding a tax ID in the Microsoft 365 admin center apply only to business billing, so they may not apply to your purchase. For a personal Microsoft Store purchase, check the order and tax invoice under your Microsoft account’s Order history.

If the invoice has already been issued without your NZ GST number, you would need to contact Microsoft billing support to confirm whether it can be amended or reissued. Since this is a public community forum, we cannot access or modify the invoice here.
