    Hi, Phyllis Pierce

The 401 invalid_client and BadContextToken details point to an expired or mismatched sign-in token rather than a problem with the file itself. This can happen when several Microsoft accounts are signed in within the same browser or Windows session.

Besides the solutions provided by the Q&A Assist, here are some suggestions you can try:

Open an InPrivate or Incognito window, sign in only with the Microsoft account that owns the OneDrive, and try sharing again. If it works there, clear the browser cookies and cached data for Microsoft and OneDrive sites. Private browsing is a recommended test for authentication-related access errors.

On Windows, clear the stored OneDrive sign-in information by following the steps in Clear OneDrive cached credentials, then restart OneDrive and sign in again.

Try uploading a copy of the file with a different name, then share the copy. This helps determine whether the sharing information attached to the original item is damaged.

If it still fails, contact Microsoft Support and provide the error code and correlation ID. Avoid posting the full diagnostic details publicly because they contain account-specific identifiers.

For a personal OneDrive account, the supported checks are:

    1. Validate the Microsoft account at https://account.live.com/reputationcheck.
    2. Make sure the Microsoft account profile is complete and up to date, and accept the Terms of Use if prompted.
    3. Check whether the file is in Personal Vault. Items in Personal Vault cannot be shared. Move the file to a folder outside Personal Vault, then share it again.
    4. Check whether sharing limits were reached. Basic or storage-only OneDrive sharing limits reset after 24 hours.
    5. If sharing from File Explorer, make sure the OneDrive desktop app is running. If it is not running, the Share option in Explorer will not work correctly. If needed, share from onedrive.com instead.
    6. If sharing from Outlook.com, after validating the account, open the People view, edit any contact, save the change, and wait up to 24 hours before trying again.

If the issue continues, use Microsoft Support for personal accounts.
