Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hello Jennifer,
To help narrow down the cause, could you please confirm the following?
1/ When does the Gmail address get replaced with the Hotmail address?
- Immediately while typing/selecting the attendee?
- Or only after the meeting invitation is sent?
2/ Does the same behavior occur in both: Teams Desktop App & Teams on the Web (https://teams.microsoft.com)?
3/ Is this affecting only this specific attendee, or have you seen the same behavior with other attendees whose email addresses have changed?
4/ You mentioned that the attendee changed their primary email from Hotmail to Gmail. If this change was made recently, could you wait a little longer and try again later, as Teams may still be syncing information associated with the old address?
Besides, you can try one of the following workarounds to see whether the attendee can receive the meeting information correctly:
1/ Send the meeting link directly to the attendee's Gmail address
- Create the Teams meeting without adding the affected attendee.
- After the meeting is created, select Copy meeting link.
- Send the link manually to the attendee's Gmail address via email.
This bypasses the attendee resolution process entirely and can help confirm whether the issue is related to how Teams is mapping the attendee's identity.
2/ Share the Meeting ID and Passcode
If your meeting settings allow it:
- Open the meeting details.
- Copy the Meeting ID and Passcode.
- Send them directly to the attendee's Gmail address.
The attendee can join manually using the meeting details instead of the invitation.
I hope I've been able to help in some way. Please keep me posted
King regards,
