If uninstalling via Windows Settings fails, then you will often have to resort to a manual uninstall. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/Office/lifecycle/manually-uninstall-office .

May I ask what prompted the uninstall to begin with?

P.S. If you plan to reinstall, you may want to run the Windows System File Checker first; for more, have a look at https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows/Experience/backup-recovery/using-system-file-checker-in-windows .

    Hello Sandra Ballance,

    Thank you for reaching out.

To better understand what is preventing the removal, could you please provide a little more information about what happens when you try to uninstall it?

Does the uninstall process fail to start, stop at a particular percentage, or display an error message? If an error appears, please send a screenshot of the complete message, including any error code shown. Please hide any personal or sensitive information before sharing the screenshot.

In the meantime, please close all Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Then open Microsoft’s official uninstall article and start the Office uninstall troubleshooter: Uninstall Microsoft 365 or Office from a PC | Microsoft Support

If Windows displays the message “This site is trying to open Get Help”, select "Open", follow the prompts, and restart the computer when requested. If the troubleshooter identifies multiple Office installations or indicates that Office was only partially removed, please run it again to check for any remaining Office components. Please note that this uninstall troubleshooter requires Windows 10 or later.

If Office still cannot be removed, you can also try Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed | Microsoft Support

This tool can help resolve incomplete uninstall information or corrupted registry entries that may prevent Windows from correctly removing Office.

Please let me know the results and share any error message that appears so I can better understand the situation.

    Kind regards,
