Visual Studio Professional subscription not recognized by Microsoft 365 Developer Program

I am a one-person simple small company and work as a consultant in Microsoft 365 Tools and services. I have been working in this field for 8 years now and I am specialized in implementing, training, support and adoption in the use of Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Copilot (and also tools like Forms, Planner, Bookings, etc). I used to have a developer tenant which I used for demonstrating usecases and testing specific wishes and needs that end-users have.

Somehow I lost access to my E5 dev tenant and somebody at microsoft told me to delete my profile, wait 60 days, and then ask for a new one. So I did. And now 4 months later, I can not get a new one. I don't see the option for a registering or asking for a new developer tenant. I only see my old inactive tenant and I cannot access that one anymore. I am not a developer, I am not a big company or an official Microsoft Partner. I am just a simple consultant that teaches people of trains people and small business in how to implement and use Microsoft 365 and the best practices and already do that for 8 years.

In this line of work I do need a developer tenant or a cdx (demo) tenant, But I somehow can not get one anymore, for doing my job as a a simple self-employed individual. PLEASE HELP ME, Someone

According to Microsoft’s official documentation, only Visual Studio Professional Standard and Visual Studio Enterprise Standard subscriptions qualify for the automatically renewable Microsoft 365 E5 developer subscription.

The Visual Studio Professional Monthly subscription you currently have is not eligible for this benefit. Microsoft specifically notes that monthly subscriptions, including Professional Monthly and Enterprise Monthly, do not qualify.

To receive this benefit through Visual Studio, you would need an eligible Visual Studio Professional Standard or Visual Studio Enterprise Standard subscription.

I hope this clarifies why your active Visual Studio Professional Monthly subscription is not currently recognized as an eligible entitlement for a new Microsoft 365 E5 developer subscription.
