Using Outlook for iOS in educational settings for communication and organization
Dear Carol,
Unfortunately, as a forum moderator, I am not able to remove the account from your device or look at your school's settings. My role here is limited to general guidance you can apply from your side. Please try the following:
- Check Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts and remove the incorrect school account if listed.
- Check whether Microsoft Authenticator, Teams, OneDrive, Edge, or Company Portal still shows the incorrect account.
- Restart the iPhone.
Since you have already tried uninstalling without success, there is a fair chance the address is being supplied to Outlook by another Microsoft app or by your school's device management settings, in which case it will keep reappearing no matter what you do on the phone. Contact the school’s IT department and ask them to:
- Confirm your correct Microsoft 365 username
- Check whether the wrong account is assigned to your device
- Remove any stale device registration
- Review any Outlook app-configuration or Intune policy
If you don't know who your IT administrator is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
Do not remove a school management profile or Company Portal enrollment without checking with IT first, as that could remove access to other school resources.
I hope this information is helpful and provide you with a clear path forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm always happy to help. Have a wonderful day!
