My mother has a Microsoft Subscription payment being charged to her credit card each month. She no longer has a device of any sort and her email account has been closed. I am Power of Attorney for my mother and she wants to stop the payment being taken from her account.

The account is [moderator's note: PII removed]@bigpond.com.au (we believe this is the account).

Can you help with this request?

I can be contacted by email [moderator's note: PII removed]@gmail.com or on mobile [moderator's note: PII removed].

Please help

    Hi Paul Jones,

I understand your concern about the recurring charge, especially since your mother can no longer access the email account associated with the subscription.

If possible, please first check the subscription through the Microsoft Services & subscriptions page using the Microsoft account that originally made the purchase. If the account is inaccessible or the subscription cannot be located, please contact Microsoft Support and choose the billing or subscription option. A support agent can advise you on the required verification and documentation for someone acting under Power of Attorney.

You can also use Microsoft’s official guidance to investigate a billing charge. If Microsoft Support cannot identify or stop the payment, please contact the card issuer to discuss blocking future recurring charges.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. I know this isn't the news you were hoping for, but I wanted to make sure you got the most accurate information about your situation. Thank you so much for your understanding.
