Using the New Outlook for Mac features in business environments
Hi Hannah Owen
I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you need to access and monitor several shared inboxes and are receiving a large number of unwanted notifications.
Based on my research, I could not find a current option in Outlook for Mac to disable notifications for individual shared mailboxes while keeping notifications enabled for your personal mailbox. However, I found a workaround that was previously suggested for this scenario.
At the moment, my test environment is also experiencing an issue, so I have not been able to verify this workaround myself. If possible, you could try the following steps in your environment first to see whether they work for you. Once I am able to test it in my environment, I will also update you with my test results:
1.Make sure you have Full Access permission to the shared mailbox. If needed, your administrator can grant this permission.
2.Sign in to Outlook on the web (OWA).
3.Select your profile picture and choose Open another mailbox.
4.Enter the shared mailbox address and open it.
5.In the shared mailbox, go to Settings > General > Notifications.
6.Turn off Notifications in Outlook for that shared mailbox.
Then check Outlook for Mac to see whether you still receive notifications from that shared mailbox.
If this is affecting your workflow, you may consider submitting feedback via Ideas · Community so the product team can review this experience.
