All Caught Up Message in Teams When There Are Unread Chats

Recently in Teams the "You're all caught up" message has started displaying even when new messages have been received and not read. An example is shown below. If there are more chats than will fit in the window they are hidden by the image.

I've looked for a setting to control the message, but I haven't found one. Is there a way to turn this off, or change the behavior so it doesn't show when there are unread chats?

    That message is tied to filtering, not a separate setting that can be turned off.

    In the screenshot, the Unread filter is active. Teams shows “You’re all caught up!” for the current filtered view when there are no more items matching that filter in the visible result set. The supported way to remove that message is to clear the filter:

    1. In Chat, look at the filter chips at the top, such as Unread, Chats, or Meeting chats.
    2. If Unread is highlighted, select it again to turn it off.
    3. Or select Clear filters.

    When no filters are active, Teams returns to the combined chat list.

    1/ Verify whether the behavior occurs in Teams Web

    • Open a browser.
    • Navigate to https://teams.microsoft.com.
    • Sign in using the same account.
    • Open Chat.
    • Enable the "Unread filter".
    • Check whether the same banner is displayed while unread chats remain visible.

    -> The behavior should be compared between the desktop client and web client to determine whether it is specific to the local Teams application.

    2/ Refresh the Teams Client Cache

    • Fully close Microsoft Teams.
    • Clear the Teams cache using the Microsoft procedure below.
    • Reopen Teams.
    • Allow the client to complete synchronization.

    I understand the “You’re all caught up!” graphic when I navigate to chat, or activity and nothing is unread. But when something shows up as unread, it should go away. Instead, it stays on the screen, giving false information as there are clearly unread messages or activity, and making it difficult to scroll through unread content if I don't have time to keep things caught up.
