Collaborative digital canvas used during meetings for drawing, writing, and brainstorming
Good day Leong,
Microsoft has announced that the standalone Whiteboard apps for Windows, iOS and Android will retire on October 16, 2026. Whiteboard for work and school accounts will continue to be available through Microsoft Teams, Whiteboard on the web, Teams meetings, Teams chats and supported OneDrive experiences. Since Whiteboard in Teams is powered by the web app, the experience and available features generally align with the web version.
Currently, Whiteboard on the web supports inserting images. You can quickly paste a screenshot using Ctrl + V or by right clicking on the canvas and selecting Paste.
You can also insert images from your device by selecting More options > Images.
However, inserting documents such as PDF files directly into Whiteboard isn't currently supported.
Additional information is available in the following resource: Retirement of the standalone Microsoft Whiteboard apps for Windows, iOS, and Android | Microsoft Support
I completely understand how these limitations in the Whiteboard web app can feel disruptive. It’s not just about aesthetics; these differences can genuinely affect how smoothly you work and navigate your day.
As a forum user, I hope you understand that I don’t have the ability to modify or escalate product issues directly. However, I strongly recommend submitting your feedback through the Whiteboard · Community. This is the most effective way to ensure your voice reaches the product team and can be considered for future improvements.
Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.
Additionally, as other users have raised similar concerns and may not be aware of where to share their feedback, I hope this response helps clarify the situation and suggests a potential next step. Highlighting this information can make it more visible to others in the community who may be facing the same issue, making it easier for them to find guidance and contribute their feedback as well.
Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.
